Mamshit National Park is situated in
the Negev desert.
This is the reconstruction of
the ancient Israel town known as Memphis. Memphis existed during
the Nabatean period. Nabateans were very skillful in
the stone cutting. As a result
they built buildings of high quality. All
these you can see from remains of
this buildings and streets.
The first place you achieve here is caranvesarai.
This was
the place where camel drivers rested. It is situated before
the main gate which is situated in
the long wall (900 meters in length).
There was
the Western church (Nilos church)which had beautiful mosaics with ornaments from birds and fruit which remained up to our days.
Also
there was a splendid House of Frescoes where were fescues painted with pictures from Greek mythology. Here was
the stable and cistern for rain water. Just here a lot of silver coins dated to
the third century were found.
Besides scientists found a bathhouse in
this town. Here were
three bathing chambers with different temperature. Athhouse was heated
through ceramic pipes.
Additionally you can visit a market place of
this town where shops are located on
the both side.
From 2005 Mamshit National Park is considered
the place of world heritage.
